Don't be intimidated

I was preparing for the services to start on a sunday and looked to see if there were any messages on the answering machine that needed to be addressed. When I listened to it there was a person who was offended about the idea that we stand true to what the bible says about all things, even things that have been considered alright in this present society and choose to name call in many different vulgar ways. It reminds me of looking at the news and different social media platforms and seeing p...

D day remembrance

Posted on June 6, 2019 at 5:35 PM Comments comments (0)

Looking at all of the D day celebrations going on this 75th anniversary it is good to be able to be reminded of the sacrifice that people made to give the whole world a chance to be free from the socialist, totalitarian, evil German empire that was wrecking havoc on the world and leading 6 million Jewish people to death in concentration camps. It is harder to remember as the years continue to lead to many of the survivors of D day  leaving us and sadly we may not have any who can let us ...

God's strength available especially as school is out for the summer

Posted on May 24, 2019 at 3:55 PM Comments comments (0)
It is that wonderful time of the year for all of the school kids, when they are released from their gilded cages of school and now have to be entertained by their parents. Some are fortunate to have the older children also home to be the summer guardians of the children, while the parents have to work. You look at all the different camps that are out there and start trying to figure out if there is one that you can afford, or sadly some children have to fend for themselves because they are raise... He's Risen

As we come to a very important time of remembrance of Jesus being the "Resurrection and the Life" it is good to check to see the ways that Jesus breathes new life in us every day. Jesus because of his death on the cross and resurrection from the day have made eternal life possible to all who put their faith in him and accept what he did for the sins of our lives and even the sin nature from our birth. Here are a couple ways that Jesus can breath new life into a believer every day. 1st is through... Read Full Post »

Keep Searching

In the book of Luke the fifteenth chapter there are a couple illustrations dealing with things being lost. One is the lost sheep, the lost coin and the lost son. Each one of these show how important and precious when the lost things are found, even so much that heaven rejoices over one lost sinner repenting over the ninety nine just. Now God is not saying that he does not care for the ninety-nine just, but they are already enjoying all the privileges and power associated with having everlasting ... Read Full Post »

A New Year

Posted on January 2, 2019 at 4:00 PM Comments comments (0)
It is interesting to see how so many people look towards the new year with a thought about the current and soon to be last year. Some make resolutions, some have parties, others may take the new year as a time to have communion with their significant others. The new year is met sometimes with a dread attached since the previous year may have been difficult. Yet, for the Christian the new year does not start every January 1st it first began the day a person made a commitment to Jesus being their ... Read Full Post »

One thing that is true about life is that a person will have to go through something that they are going to have to "deal with it." Some will try to work around the situation, some will try to make the situation workable. In other words, you will have to come up with a solution to your situation what ever it may be and hope that it will work out in the end. One thing that a person cannot work out or make workable is their eternal account of sin. Many try to make sin workable by simply saying tha... Read Full Post »

Back to School

This is one of the interesting times of life, when the summer is over and all the kids have to go back to school. Some go through the joy of seeing their old friends, while some parents go through joy thinking about the school being responsible for a large chunk of their time, which they have had to do all summer. Some have trepidation since they are going into a different grade and have no idea if any of their friends will be there or if they will have to make it through the recess jungle all b... being picked by the team

Posted on June 22, 2018 at 4:50 PM Comments comments (0)
Yesterday, there was a big television event which had millions of people watching to see what would happen. It was the NBA draft. Everyone had an agent that was setting up appointments to meet with teams and show how much they deserved to be picked. The teams looked at the different players seasons, their workouts, interviews, and the teams personal needs, to decide who is the best person to pick for their team. There were many times on television leading up to the draft, where everyone was deba... Read Full Post »

Being acceptable to God in an unacceptable culture

Posted on April 30, 2018 at 1:00 PM Comments comments (0)
One of my favorite parts of psalm 19 is verse 14 which states, "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer." One of the reasons that this verse becomes dear to me is that it comes after most of the psalm reminding us about God's perfect judgements and statutes that man are suppose to follow. So, what? you may be saying at this moment. The reason why this is important is that it gives us a clue about how we can live ... Read Full Post »
